WELCOME TO ISRAEL 2024

Shalom to Everyone,

God permitting, we are beginning the first steps to our 2024 Israel trip. Not all “i’s” are yet dotted, nor are the “t’s” crossed, but I thought to open this blog in order to be our communication page for Israel 2024.

OVERVIEW
As a messianic rabbi with my own congregation in Estacada, Oregon, one of my greatest interests is to explore the life of Yeshua (Hebrew for Jesus) within His Biblical Jewish-Israeli context. As such, visits to each biblical site will be narrated within the authentic context of Yeshua’s life and historical facts, as well as situate them within Biblical Judaism. While we will try make the most of our time, we will also take time for relaxation and personal shopping, especially at the end of the tour in Jerusalem.

THEME FOR THE VISIT
Here is a story for you. An American man went with his wife to visit her family from Eastern Europe. As soon as they arrived, even as they were greeted at the airport by her many relatives, the husband was shocked to discover a side of his wife he had never seen before. You see, they had met and married in America, therefore, he had never seen her interact with her family.

Most people only know Jesus from modern Western viewpoints and culture. But the facts are that Jesus was a Middle-Eastern man who lived 2000 years ago and interacted with His people in Middle-Eastern ways. Like the American man in the story, going to visit the people of the Master may help us discover some sides of Him we were not aware of. It is our hope that experiencing the land where He was born, lived, died, resurrected, ascended, and will return to, with the people who are still His people today, will provide you with an unforgettable experience as well as a deeper dimension of His words and teachings.

During our journey, as we visit both Jewish and Christian sites, we will discover the authentic Jewish Jesus as well as the movement He created, starting from its very origins, until today in the modern Israeli Messianic congregations.

    Meet Rabbi Gabriel Lumbroso
Gabriel Lumbroso was born in Paris, France, a descendent of a long line of the Lumbroso family who have an extensive Jewish history.   He was a dedicated member of  Zionist Youth Groups in France from an early age leading up to the time of his Bar Mitzvah at the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem.  Eventually, Gabriel made “Aliyah” as a young teenager where he did his studies at an Ulpan farm/school for young immigrants.

Still seeking, he befriended a young man on a trip to Europe who shared Isaiah 53 with him and taught him about Mashiach. This was a turning point on his spiritual journey.

Gabriel met and married his wife, Christina, while in France, and they spent many years abroad in Christian outreach from Eastern Europe to S.E. Asia. They have six grown children. Gabriel and his wife presently reside in the USA. In addition to running a Torah study group in Oregon and spending much of his time teaching the Hebrew roots of the Christian faith, he also teaches French, Hebrew, History, Geography, and Current Events to teens in home-school groups.   He and his wife also compose and play in their Messianic/Israeli music band called "The Lumbrosos" and have produced three CDs. Click HERE for more about their music
