Revelations 5:13
"To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!" Judah and Israel were as many as the sand by the sea ... And Judah and Israel lived in safety … every man under his vine and under his fig tree, all the days of Solomon (1Kings 4:20-21, 25). King Solomon prefigures the Messianic Age, the time when God’s Messiah will reign on the earth as King, Priest, and Judge; a time when Judah and Israel will finally live as one independent sovereign nation in peace and prosperity; a time when the nations will come to Jerusalem to learn God’s Word and offer tribute (Micah 4). It is said that at that time the Messiah will judge the earth with righteous judgments (Isaiah 11:1-5). The wisdom of Solomon was heard worldwide and made famous by the unorthodox way he revealed the truth during a difficult case, a difficult case because there were no witnesses, a must for any biblical court case (Numbers 35:30). Here is the case: two prostitutes lived in the same house and gave birth to a child. One night one of the babies dies and its mother exchanges it for the live baby. Now both mothers claim the living child (1 Kings 3:16-22). Here is how Solomon found the truth. "Bring me a sword …"Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one and half to the other." Then the woman whose son was alive said to the king, because her heart yearned for her son, "Oh, my lord, give her the living child, and by no means put him to death." But the other said, "He shall be neither mine nor yours; divide him." Then the king answered and said, "Give the living child to the first woman, and by no means put him to death; she is his mother (1 Kings 3:23-27). Today the question rages between two proclaimed ‘mothers’ of the movement of the followers of the Nazarene, two mothers also guilty of harlotry. Was Yeshua born of a Jewish or a Christian mother? Was He an Israeli Jew or a Greco-Roman Christian? Christians say that God has rejected His people in favor of them, that Jews need to ‘convert’ to Christianity to have the Messiah. On the other hand, Jewish believers stand on the everlasting promises of God’s merciful restoration, knowing that in the end, the world comes to Jerusalem to enter peace in Messiah (Micah 4). In other words, that it is the world that is grafted into Israel’s olive tree (Romans 11), not Israel grafted into the world’s Christmas tree! When Yeshua was brought to the Temple for the dedication of the firstborn ceremony, old Simeon told Miriam, "Behold, this child is appointed for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign that is opposed (and a sword will pierce through your own soul also), so that thoughts from many hearts may be revealed (Luke 2:34-35)." The sword of Messiah is His discerning and revealing Word of wisdom (Hebrews 4:12-13). Solomon used this sword of judgment in order to reveal who is the true mother. When the Messiah comes, not only like Solomon will He rebuild the Temple, but He will also reveal and re-establish the rightful origins of the Nazarene movement.

John 7:37
"If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink”. This World can be compared to a giant outdoors market place not unlike those you can see in Europe. The merchants are all shouting to advertize their wares and their foods. Water-bearers also invite people to quench their thirst. The prophet Isaiah walks around the market-place and observes people buying items priced above their cost, food that does not satisfy, and water that does not quench. Frustrated he cries, "Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food (Isaiah 55:1-2). Such is the world today. Everyone competes in the market of ideas, philosophies and religions. As a humble merchant among them the Spirit of God of Wisdom cries aloud in the street, in the markets she raises her voice; at the head of the noisy streets she cries out; at the entrance of the city gates she speaks: "How long, O simple ones, will you love being simple? How long will scoffers delight in their scoffing and fools hate knowledge (Proverbs 1:20-22)? How pathetic that Hashem, that He who owns the only food that satisfies and the only water that quenches, has to humble Himself to beg and shout for our attention amidst a market of lies and falsehoods. Yet He does. He does in Mashiach who made Himself of no reputation (Philippians 2:7 KJV), that He may reach us with what He knows we need even when we seem distracted by the shiny plastic pretend gold of man’s philosophies and religions. When will we let go of the junk jewelry and reach for the real pearl of the Kingdom of God, even at the cost of everything else (Matthew 13:35-36)? Hear His Voice now. As Abraham who was known to send Eliezer his servant (Eliezer means: God is my help) in the highways and the byways to invite perfect strangers into his master’s tent so he could host them and tell them about the Magnificent Host whose world we enjoy, Messiah daily sends the Spirit of God to shout in our ears, "Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life (John 4:13-114)." And again, See, I have prepared my dinner, my oxen and my fat calves have been slaughtered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding feast (Matthew 22:4).’ Will it be also said of us, But they paid no attention (Matthew 22:5)? 1 Peter 2:12
Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation. With literacy almost universal, the Word of Torah is made available almost to all. Even though originally recorded in a Semitic language, through Hebrew Jews have been able to preserve its text. They have also developed easy ways to learn Hebrew so that many of us can actually study the Words of God in their original language. In a way, this should save us from the divisive curse of so many translations. Jews and Muslims do not have this problem because they study their Holy Texts in their original languages, and the language of the Bible is not Elizabethan English nor even Greek, but Hebrew. Reading the Bible in the culture of its original tongue is a first step in properly comprehending it, but the litmus test of whether we properly understand, live and apply the Words of our Father accurately is in this exhortation given by Moses to the Israelite generation ready to enter and conquer Canaan at God’s command. He said, Keep them (the Words of Torah) and do them, for that will be your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples, who, when they hear all these statutes, will say, 'Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.' For what great nation is there that has a god so near to it as the LORD our God is to us, whenever we call upon him? And what great nation is there, that has statutes and rules so righteous as all this law that I set before you today (Deuteronomy 4:6-8)? There is s popular saying among secular folks these days, ‘Lord, deliver me from Your children!’ I would like to think that people who say these things are incorrigible atheists, but the truth is that this saying is popular even among believers. It is the feeling often uttered by people who have been burned and abused by some of the ungodly ways some of God’s people represent Abba’s Words through their societal manners. It is true that at times the Word will cause persecution (2 Timothy 3:12), but opposition to our obnoxious ways is not persecution for righteousness’ sake, it is rather the just reward of our lack of wisdom. In the mean time though, the Word is negated and people do not know God as He would be portrayed, would we walk out Torah knowledge the way Yeshua taught us to. I am always amazed at the fact that whereas Yeshua, the Ultimate Righteous One on earth who came down from His heavenly station to walk our dirty roads, was so sociable that people sought and followed His uncertain ways for miles. Yeshua sent His disciples in the same manner He was sent (John 20:21). Their life in Israel and even in the nations which is well documented in the Book of Acts and other historical accounts had the desired effect of creating a hunger for God in the people they came in contact with. The question we now need to ask ourselves is, “When people come in contact with me, do they see God’s wisdom as the Torah say they should (Deuteronomy 4:6-8)?” |
